Gally 2012 Recap

I have been seeing all sorts of great recaps of the Gallifrey One 2012 experience all over t3h intarwebs, and wish I’d been coherent enough to be half as clever as some of these thoughtful folks. For example:

There are loads more from much more popular blogs than this one, but those are a few that caught my attention. In fact, i09’s article has now got me thinking about what I might be able to pull off in the way of crossplay/femme cosplay myself next year. Hmmm…

But there’s something I’ve been promising you for a few weeks now that hasn’t come to fruition yet – the IAN shirt photo! Here’s what I advertised would happen:

Ian shirt + William Russell = squeeing fangirl

See if you think that was an accurate prediction when you look at the end product:

Personally, I think I look a bit manic. Maybe it’s because I couldn’t stop grinning the whole damn weekend. Here’s further evidence of that particular state of affairs:

Again, I think I’ve got a bit of an excuse for the over-excited grin. Paul McGann! Touching me! Yes, yes, I was one of about a gazillion fans in that situation. Let me have my moment.

Speaking of Moments, here’s another fabulous one for me – at the controls of the TARDIS console herself! Apparently, I’m on my way to Calufrax. Hope that’s before all that Key to Time business, or it could be a bit of a letdown when I get there…

Gally’s certainly no letdown, though! The only downside was not being able to be in multiple places at once. There was so very much to do and see, and so many wonderful panels that no one could possibly get to everything they wanted, I’d swear to it. Nothing for it but to go again next year (I’m already pre-registered!). Maybe I’ll get to meet more of these fabulous folks I’ve seen whizzing past in the #gally and #gallifreyone Twitter feeds…

And now that I’ve had one experience with it, I have a slightly better idea what to expect and how to approach the con. Somehow, I expect adding LobbyCon to the mix of my experience will change the dynamic quite a bit. ~grin~ Only 356 more days till Gallifrey One 2013!
